As an Underwriter you will perform comprehensive review and analysis of the loan structure, borrower profile, and loan documents to secure profitability and reduce risk.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Review loan terms to ensure accuracy and completeness, as well as consistency with negotiated terms and investor guidelines
  • Identify and resolve errors and discrepancies on estimated settlement statements
  • Responsible for underwriting collateral in accordance with the Company’s credit policies and procedures
  • Analyze applicant’s financial status, credit and property evaluation to determine feasibility of granting the loan request
  • Review entity-borrower information to confirm entity structure, signing authority, and verify good standing
  • Clearly and concisely communicate with various levels of the organization on loan variables, investment analysis, and borrower profiles
  • Perform thorough and detailed review of loan documents 
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for clearing prior to document and prior to fund conditions
  • Review and escalate issues related to chain of title, liens, judgments, etc
  • Take on special projects as assigned

  • Ability to maintain a high volume workload in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different levels of employees
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Excel


  • Ability to multi-task, manage multiple daily assignments and meet daily required deadlines
  • Must be able to work overtime if required
  • 2 years of experience in mortgage, real estate or finance preferred
  • 4-year college degree or equivalent combination of coursework and experience
